It's been a great Spring!

by Casey Coleman Jr on 04/12/16

Well folks, so far it's been a great Spring!  Everything is in bloom, garden's started, and we had a bounty of beautiful IPP piglets on the farm.  The majority of the piglets have moved on to new homes, however, we still have a few breeding pairs left.  Need to move these little guys on to new pastures, so please contact us to learn more.

Socializing with Pigs...

by Casey Coleman Jr on 03/19/16

At Southern Winds Farm, human to animal contact is extremely important.  We dedicate a great portion of our time to socializing with pigs.  Belly rubs and ear scratches are only a small part of the interaction with our pigs.  We believe spending great amounts of time socializing with our pigs makes for calmer, happier, healthier, and more secure animals. This interaction seems to greatly reduce a pig's urge to run fences, panic/scatter, and most importantly, stress level.  We want our pigs to live calm, stress free and respected... because as we say, "happy pigs are tasty pigs."
